Our Story

Founded in 1969, Capri Camper began building simple, lightweight truck campers for rodeo cowboys who needed a durable, easy-to-haul camper for travel between events. Today, we operate out of Bluff Dale, Texas using the same time-honored, hand-built traditional wood-frame construction that has remained a hallmark of the brand. A commitment to craftsmanship that has made Capri Camper America’s #1 Rodeo Camper and an aspiration to all those who move around the great American landscape we call home.

Why Capri

  • Custom, hand-built from the ground up in Texas since 1969
  • Best truck camper value on the market today
  • Solid wood frame construction, fully insulated, wrapped in anodized aluminum, including a one-piece aluminum roof
  • Unique, vintage look unlike any truck camper on the market
  • One of the lightest, well-constructed truck campers available
  • Cab-over and non-cab-over models for 5.5′ & 6.5′ short beds and 8′ long bed pickups
  • New version designed specifically for 6′ mid-size trucks (e.g., Tacoma)
  • Easy ordering process with typical wait times of 6–8 weeks (or less)
  • Allows room for towing bumper pull trailers, toy haulers, boats, or other equipment
  • Preferred by more World Champion Rodeo Cowboys (men & women) than all competitors combined
  • Used Capri Campers are rare and highly sought-after, maintaining strong resale value and protecting your original investment

Texas

“Welcome to Texas” is a common sight for anyone driving into the Lone Star State and Texans make good on that claim wherever you are. There’s over a quarter million square miles of hospitality out here to explore: spring fed rivers and tubing in the hill country, the artful charms of west Texas, places beyond the pines, and deep in the Chihuahuan desert. All here, ensuring that no matter where you’re headed, it’s well worth the journey.

New Mexico

This map of New Mexico doesn’t overstate anything, but it doesn’t have to. The land speaks for itself; quiet towns, long roads, and sky big enough to take in all the thoughts you’re having. This is the kind of place that builds in momentum, hardly ever rushes, and lets you find your very own rhythm in it.

California

Light hits different in California. It’s warmer, softer, and with a quiet buzz in the air, like anything could happen. From surf sessions in Malibu to hikes along Big Sur – California’s light is always on. It gives you the freedom to head to shore when the waves line up, grab street tacos from a roadside shack, set up camp below giant sequoias or just let your wheels keep rolling far on down the line.

Colorado

Sometimes a long road trip can blur the lines between what’s expected and “well…what do we have here?” A Colorado road trip packs in mountain passes, winding rivers, red rock canyons, and small towns where adventure meets peace & calm. From hiking and fly-fishing to hot springs and craft breweries, there’s always something beautiful, crisp, and soul-stirring just around the bend.

Florida

Ernest Hemmingway caught tarpon here, authored books here. He frequented hole-in-the-walls with cheap beer, spending his days eating, drinking, and chasing romance in a life worthy of a Jimmy Buffett song. Chances are you might be moved to write down a few words of your own. You pick the spots, you capture the times, and you decide if the good life can really be this simple.
